About Lost Indian Camp

Dream catcher at Lost Indian Camp

Glamping at its finest

Lost Indian Camp is located in our beautiful little town of Morganton in the North Georgia Mountains. Where Cherokee Indians controlled the area today known as Fannin County when the first white settlements appeared. Unlike much of the rest of Georgia, Fannin County’s first settlers did not come from the East, but from the North. Written accounts date these earliest settlements to 1790.

Set near the Chattahoochee National Forest, on Facowee Farms, a 21.5 acre private horse boarding facility. Lost Indian Camp offers a wonderful tranquil setting. If you ever wanted to stay in an authentic Tipi, here is your chance. You can stay in this hand painted Native American Tipi. It sleeps two people comfortably with a Queen size bed.

At Lost Indian Camp we take care of your unique Glamping experience: comfy tipi, great services, and the best owner/operator. Our secluded Tipi is your dream getaway to immerse into an atmosphere of total relaxation.

Things to consider before booking

Start your morning off with our complimentary Snake Bites; farm fresh eggs, homemade butter, muffins and a hot cup of coffee.

Remember this is still considered camping, as the fabric does not block out light, so you are up with the SUN!

Be aware of severe weather, again this is a canvas tent and weather could be a factor and items could get wet.

In the summer, midday to late afternoon can be slightly warm inside Tipi. If you get a little warm under the collar, please use our turbo fan.

For those cool evenings and brisk mornings, we have a gas heater for you to enjoy. Do not leave heater on while Tipi is not occupied.

Eco paper is provided for you in the restroom. Please use disposal can for all other items and toiletries.

Only burn wood and paper products in the fire pit. NO PLASTIC, METAL or GLASS. Before retiring for the night make sure fire is contained in fire pit, NO FLAMES.

There is absolutely NO SMOKING in the Tipi. However, feel free to smoke outside or around the fire pit. Please be sure to use cigarette cans to dispose of all butts.

DO NOT move, pull or cut any of the strings, ropes or poles on or in Tipi.

When you leave camp, please close both the screen door and the solid door.

DO NOT climb on or through fences or open the gates. Only give the horses in the pasture pets and love, please NO treats or fingers.
